  1. Kia ora Tom,

This turned into a pretty cool rap. I'm sure if you guys had practiced more it would have been mean as, but I think also that freestyling about washing powder is pretty hard. I hope next time you spend more time on it, freestylers and all rappers practice heaps so they can pull the words out easier, so I guess you might have learned that a bit better this day.

You don't know me yet, but my name is Mark and I'm a teacher working on the Summer Learning Journey. It's an online holiday programme you signed up for at the end of term. I visited your page to remind you that you can still join in anytime. "But why should I do it?" I bet you're thinking. You should do it because you care about how smart you are. If you just play playstation or outside the whole holidays you won't be feeding your brain, and just like any animal, if you don't feed it then it get weak. If you want a strong brain you have to feed it books and other educational goodies. Plus with the SLJ you can win prizes if you do really well.

These holidays the Summer Learning Journey is all about travel and other cultures. It has heaps of different activities to do, and there are lots of students already participating. Some of the best things about the programme is that you can choose the activities you want to do, when you want to do them, and the points you earn from blogging and commenting can help you win prizes. There are also travelers, locals, and teachers commenting on everyone's blogs.

It's honestly pretty fun and heaps of students are already doing it, so I hope you can join in soon. Even if you can't, it's cool to head to a library or read whatever you can find.

Kia kaha, Tom. I hope you do your best, happy New Year!
